Introduction
Who will take care of the caretaker? This a question that becomes a challenge when disease affects the healthcare worker. A healthy worker is a priceless member of the health team. We know that obesity is an epidemic and exercise is good, but do we have an active plan for our personal lives? How do you handle stress? Are you getting enough sleep? These are questions that we will address and work to develop a plan that offers life balance and improves your personal health.

- How could you develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle?
- How would you generate a plan to manage personal stressors?
- How do calories apply to maintaining a healthy lifestyle?
- What diseases are associated with elevated BMI?

- What steps can be taken to improve sleep?
Module Minute
The focus on improving your health and wellness begins with understanding the importance of the changes one must make to begin the journey. The ingredients to a healthy lifestyle include diet, exercise, and stress management. Dietary goals should include developing healthy eating habits that can be continued for years, and avoiding extreme diets. Remember that calories are a form of energy that when not stored are neatly packed away as stored energy or fat. Learn to incorporate exercise into your daily routines by parking at the back of the lot or taking the stairs. Exercise has been clinically shown to improve and stabilize mood, increase energy, and combat a number of diseases and conditions when partnered with a healthy diet. Lastly, identify stress triggers and techniques that help manage the impact of stress on your quality of life.
