Introduction

To understand psychology today, you must acknowledge its roots. In the scope of things, psychology is a young science that is still developing. Due to the nature of the discipline, interpretation of human behavior and mental processes is not black-and-white; this discipline is integrated with various perspectives all providing explanations of this phenomena. You will quickly learn that no one perspective is more right than any other; psychology is all up for interpretation as you see it. However, you must understand how each perspective enriches the discipline. This also includes mastering knowledge about what makes psychology a social SCIENCE. It is social because it studies organisms, but a science due to the methods used to complete research. Without the aspect of science, false claims could be made to explain human behavior and mental processes. There needs to be evidence to support claims made about human behavior and mental processes, however evidence can always be refuted. Let's learn about psychology!!!
