According to DigitalCitizenship.net, there are nine elements of digital citizenship: access, commerce, communication, literacy, etiquette, law, rights and responsibilities, health and wellness, and security. As digital citizens we are responsible for being aware and protecting ourselves in the digital world. In addition we should promote accessibility, literacy, and etiquette.

Ethical research is of prime importance in the digital age where information, both accurate and inaccurate, is in such abundance. Honesty, objectivity, and integrity, along with respect for intellectual property are a large part of ethical research.

Teamwork, time management, and organizational skills are important in the world of work. Technology can help assist businesses promote these skills. Companies that embrace technology tend to have happier employees, more satisfied customers, and more efficient operations.
