Back when computers were new, one fear among most businesses was loss of data. Elaborate protocols were put in place to both protect the data from outsiders and to prevent data loss should a system crash. A big concern was where to store the backup data. Data recovery scenarios were created which involved multiple backups in multiple locations. Today with the advent of cloud computing, data can be stored where it is available anywhere, anytime. This saves both time and money.

Now that employees can work wherever and whenever they need to and in a manner that suits their personality, they are happier and more productive. They are willing to work harder and longer.

Technology can help them communicate and stay in touch with their customer base. Technology can also help to promote a company's image as being current and in the know.
