(MOS) Systems of the Body Lesson
Systems of the Body Lesson
Spend a few minutes thinking about all the activities that are going on inside the typical human body. What would happen if even just one of these activities stopped? How long would the body be able to survive? Watch the following video, Biologically Speaking: Systems of the Human Body, explores the structure and function of ten major body systems including the skin, and the muscular, skeletal, digestive, circulatory, respiratory, urinary, endocrine, lymphatic, and nervous systems. The narrator discusses the primary organs within each system and explains the vital relationships between systems that allow us to survive and to be healthy. The video also provides health tips and emphasizes our role as a caretaker role in maintaining the body's optimum physical condition. Watch the video to revisit/review the important concepts discussed in this module. Note how the video sums up what has been explored in this module: a complex, multicellular organism such as the human body relies upon unique (interconnected) systems working as a whole unit.
Compete the following activity to test your new knowledge of the major organ systems of the body.
