Language Learners Module Overview

Introduction

In this illustration, a dark-skinned woman and a dark-skinned child sit at a table. Each read a book. The woman has dark brown hair and is wearing a light blue shirt, green shorts, and red shoes with blue socks. The child has medium brown hair and wears a purple short-sleeved shirt and shorts with red socks. People hear words they do not understand on a daily basis. Dictionaries serve an integral purpose in learning. The meanings of unknown words can be discovered in a matter of moments by using the dictionary for assistance. Sometimes a writer may want to find a different word with the same meaning as the original word; therefore, thesauri (plural for thesaurus) help find different words with the same meanings. Understanding how to use the dictionary and thesaurus proves helpful in understanding the definitions of words and just learning new words in general.
