PED - Learning Styles Lesson
Learning Styles
The illiterate of the future will not be the person who cannot read. It will be the person who does not know how to learn.
— Alvin Toffler
As noted in the key terms, there are four learning styles: visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic. Often learners employ more than one style during learning, but usually, a dominant style exists. Knowing your own learning style is important in your education because acquiring the knowledge of how you learn enhances the probability that you will learn. Understanding one's own learning can affect the note-taking process, class behavior, interaction with texts, and study habits. Think back to Module 5 on travel writing. From which sensory modality did you write your description of the tropical image? How did your diction cater to a specific learning style?
By identifying your learning style, you will be able to capitalize on your strengths and improve your self-advocacy skills. Please take all three of the following surveys to determine your learning style. Think critically about the questions being asked.
