What You See Is What You Get
Graphical User Interface (GUI) HTML editors are used by many web designers and are often referred to as "What You See Is What You Get" (WYSIWYG) editors. You probably are aware of or have accessed programs like Adobe Dreamweaver, Google Sites, and/or Wix to create a website. These programs allow web designers to add content by accessing options from a main menu and tool bars to create content in a document window. Many programs also include templates and themes to assist users in establishing a professional layout for the web pages. As you examine WYSIWYG editors, you will discover that some can be accessed by creating an account, some are accessible as part of a suite of programs, while others are trademarked and must be purchased. The learning object below will provide information on types of WYSIWYG editors that web designers might access.
