TE - El Tiempo = Weather (Lesson)
El Tiempo = Weather
Many weather expressions use the verb "Hacer" to tell what the weather is like.
The only forms of Hacer that will be used in these weather expressions is "hace. The English equivalent will be "It is (weather condition).
For example, Hace sol. = It is sunny. There are about 6-8 Weather Expressions using "hace," and there are other Weather Expressions that do not use "hace."
Some of them use "está," and others may use the verb "hay"
Examples
- Está lloviendo. - It is raining.
- Hay neblina. It is foggy.
The expressions that do not follow the "hacer" verb pattern will have to be memorized.

Ben is getting settled in Oaxaca, Mexico and he is absolutely thrilled about el tiempo! He is a short walk or bus ride from the beach, and although he just arrived he has already spotted the surf shop. Read as Ben talks with his "house brother", Guillermo, about the similarities and differences between the weather here in Oaxaca and back home in Atlanta. Don't worry, he will be using very simple sentences since he's still learning Spanish just like you!
