Water is precious. But not just for drinking: water is food! Thanks to the extraordinary work of scientists we know how much water we need to produce the food we consume. It is easy to see that some products such as fruit and vegetables are more water-friendly than others.

The Source of Water and Contaminants: Much of the world is made of water and it is that water supply that we drink every day. Surface and groundwater contribute to our water supply. Different types of contaminants from landfills, water storage tanks, and fertilizers and pesticides seep into our supply.

Water, pH, and Food Preparation: Water is a powerful agent in food preparation and storage. Knowing the pH of water can help people to understand the content of pollutants and how it will affect the body.
