Legal and Ethical Issues in the Workplace

Laws have been around for centuries. They were established to protect individuals, maintain order, and set standards. In the workplace, guidelines and laws are needed so that business owners are not tempted to create products that harm the environment, take advantage of consumers, treat employees unfairly, and breach contracts made with manufacturers. As you gain employment with businesses, make sure to familiarize yourself with the policies and regulations of the company. Many employers will provide employees with a Code of Ethics which details the mission and values of the business.
