avoir besoin de are three words that go together to mean to need. When you use this expression, make sure you always have all three words! And make sure that you make avoir agree with the subject.

Did you notice nouveau and nouvelle?
This is a special adjective that comes BEFORE the noun it describes. Normally adjectives in French come after the noun. However, as you will learn, the French language loves its exceptions. We will learn more of these soon. For now, just remember that the new adjective new comes BEFORE the noun.
