Special Rules: Stem-changing -ER verbs
Stem-changing verbs are verbs that conjugated the same as -ER verbs, but their stems change. While most work like the examples on the previous page, there are three types that act differently: those that end in -ger, those that end in -yer and those that add -è.
-ER verbs ending in -ger

*Please note that for the assessments in this French course, you are to use the y to i model for the verbs essayer and payer. Sometimes you will see, for example, je paye, in some French-speaking countries. However, you are expected to use je paie for this course.
