 Before learning about de and adding new vocabulary, let's review two very important verbs - avoir and être.

avoir and être verbs

avoir – to have		être – to be
j’ai tu as il / elle / on a	nous avons vous avez ils / elles ont	je suis tu es il/elle/on est	nous sommes vous êtes ils/elles sont
J’ai un chien. Tu as deux chiens. Il a trois chiens. Elle a quatre chiens.	Nous avons cinq chiens. Vous avez six chiens. Ils ont sept chiens. Elles ont huit chiens.	Je suis américain. Tu es lycéen. Il est intelligent. Elle est intelligente.	Nous sommes américains. Vous êtes canadiens. Ils sont français. Elles sont françaises.

The Preposition de

The following presentation will introduce new family vocabulary and the preposition de. Read through the presentation carefully and use the clues to figure out what different words mean. Then read through the presentation again with your vocabulary list open to make sure you get all the new terms. Remember that you can't learn a word just by seeing it once.
