Fundamentals of Sculpture

Form, content and technique are considered the fundamentals of all three dimensional art. Sculptors use gesture drawing as a fast way to record the mass, movement and any action in a subject matter without having to spend a lot of time on the sketches before creating a maquette. Gesture drawings are quick sketches that are drawn from direct observation.

Pop Art

A 1960's group of artists wanted to question what was art and what was considered beautiful. They made artwork about common consumer goods, movie stars, musicians, and items that were considered "popular" but not necessarily considered art.
