It is now time to start your rough draft. Refer to your approved topic, outline, and thesis statement in order to guide your writing. See below for important paper requirements.

Essays are divided into paragraphs.
A paragraph is a group of sentences on one topic.
Essays always start with an introduction, contain body paragrophs and end with a conclusion.
When writing, make sure you link your paragraphs. Use linking words/phrases.
The sentence that sets the tone and tells the reader the topic of the paragraph is called a topic
sentence.
A topic sentence states a single point clearly
A topic sentence goes at the beginning of a paragraph.
All topic sentences should relate to the essay topic and thesis. Make sure that you are
answering the thesis statement.
You must provide evidence to support any points you make

Giving Evidence
Use evidence from the text to explain yourself. Make sure
the evidence you use is relevant. Introduce any borrowed
material as noted in the "Using Literary Evidence" section of
this module.
