ODS - Mythology Background Lesson

Before we begin reading Homer's Odyssey, it is important to take a look into Greek mythology as a whole. Many of the characters from Greek mythology will appear, or be referenced when reading The Odyssey. Please watch the presentation below. It make take a few minutes to load, so please be patient.

The Trojan War Reading Assignment

Begin by reading about the Trojan War. This war is one of the cornerstones of Greek mythology. Homer's works, The Illiad and The Odyssey, contain much of the known information about the Trojan War. These stories follow Odysseus through the war and other adventures following the war, and chronicle his interactions with various gods and goddesses, as well as mythical monsters.
