Emotion Theories

Think of the last time you experienced fear, maybe when you were watching a scary movie or walking alone in a dark place. What were the physical components of your fear experience? You probably remember that your heart raced, your muscles tightened, and your respiration increased. All emotions have a mental, physical and expressive component, but psychologists cannot agree on exactly how humans experience emotion. The following three theories are the most respected ones today.
