APEP - AP Exam Prep Overview

AP Exam Prep Overview

Introduction

The Human Geography is a course designed for senior level students and the exam is given worldwide each year in May. The scores are scaled against the mean (so you are given raw points out of 120), but the scores is be reported on a 1-5 scale, with a 3 considered "passing".  The AP Exam score is not tied to the class grade, and scores will be sent to you in July. In order to find out if a college accepts AP Human Geography exam scores in place of a college class (and what score they require) you should visit the individual college website. The exam will take two hours and fifteen minutes, with 60 minutes devoted to the multiple-choice section and 75 minutes devoted to the free response question section. Each section of the test is worth 60 raw points (a total of 120), which is then set into a 1-5 scale.

Essential Questions

  • Can I effectively answer multiple-choice questions?
  • Can I effectively respond to free response question prompts?

Remediation: AP Exam Preps

There are seven multiple-choice quizzes and five FRQs offered at the end of this course.

These assessments will not be entered into the gradebook as separate assessments, but rather the multiple-choice scores will be averaged together and the FRQ scores will be averaged together and these totals (up to 10 points) will be added to your lowest multiple-choice test and your lowest FRQ test.

You must attempt all seven of the practice multiple choice quizzes in order to earn up to 10 bonus points on your lowest multiple-choice test and you must attempt all five of the practice FRQs in order to earn up to 10 bonus points on your lowest FRQ test.
