Module Overview
Introduction
The field of geography has been of great importance to man since the dawn of history. Understanding where we are on the Earth's surface is central to understanding how to survive and thrive. In geography the five most important concepts are location, place, human-environmental interaction, movement and region. The field of geography will provide the basis for the most in-depth study of human geography. In geography we ask the question "Where?" in human geography we will go further and try to address the "Why of where?" and "Why we care?"
Essential Questions
- Who are the geographers that established important concepts and models?
- Why does location matter?
- What makes a place unique and what makes it similar to other areas?
- Why does scale matter?
- What is spatial analysis and why do spatial relationships matter?
- What is globalization and how does it affect regionalization?
- How has technology changed the field of geography?
