Essay Types
You have already learned about two important essay types: the Argumentative Essay and the Informative Essay. Remember that there are a variety of essay types, and each essay type serves a certain purpose depending on your goal as a writer. Review the terms you will want to know for this module:
Recall that Argumentative Essays require you to choose a side regarding a certain topic and investigate the topic to provide evidence supporting your opinion, and Informative Essays require you to provide facts and information in order to teach your readers about a topic. Unlike an Argumentative Essay, the Informative Essay should never include personal opinions or try to persuade readers.

Thesis Statements
Remember that the thesis statement reveals the main idea of the essay. Remember that you do not include "I think", "In my opinion", or any other phrases using "I, me, my, you, us, we, or our" because they weaken your argument.
