Now we will learn how to construct the inscribed circle of a triangle; the center of this circle is called the incenter of the triangle, and the circle is tangent to each side of the triangle:

Steps for Constructing a Circle Inscribed in a Triangle

  1. Start with any triangle.
  2. Construct the angle bisector for any angle.
  3. Construct the angle bisector for another angle.
  4. Label the point of intersection.
  5. Place the pointed end of the compass on the point of intersection.
  6. Open the compass to the shortest distance between the point of intersection and any side of the triangle.
  7. Construct the circle – this is the inscribed circle, whose center is the incenter of this triangle. It is tangent to each side of the triangle.
