Introduction

In this lesson, you will learn how multiplying a whole number by a power of ten affects the product.

So far in this unit, we have reviewed and learned about multiples, factors, multiplying and dividing multi-digit numbers, and how to solve real-world problems using a 4 square strategy. Today, we are going to extend our knowledge of multiplication by learning about the powers of 10. To begin, see if you can complete the following activity:
