Lesson 3: Multiple Ways to Multiply

Introduction

In this lesson, you will learn how to multiply multi-digit numbers using multiple mathematical strategies.

For the past two days, we have reviewed the definitions of multiples and factors. These two concepts help in performing different operations in math. Today, we are going to learn multiple ways to multiply multi-digit numbers.

How many ways can we multiply?

Before we get started, please complete the following steps. 

        1. Download and print the Multiple Ways to Multiply flipbook notes.
        2. Cut out the flipbook and fold it in half.
        3. Cut each horizontal line to create four flaps for your book.
        4. Glue the back of the flipbook into your journal when you complete the activity.

  1. The name of each strategy goes on top of each flap. 
  2. Write all of the information under the flap.
