Listening to Latin: Plautus

While you will not read any Plautus in Latin in this module, we thought you might enjoy getting a small sample of Plautus' Latin style. Below is a video in which a talented Latinist reads the prologue to Plautus' Amphitruo in Latin. We have not yet talked about meter, but this video provides an excellent example of what a Roman audience would have heard from an actor in the theater.

Please note: this video does not have captions. The narrator is reading the text on the screen, so captions are not needed.
