Introduction
It is important to exhibit appropriate business communication skills in the workplace to facilitate information and communication. This includes oral, written, and digital communication. Business professionals should be able to produce written communication that utilizes proper tone, grammar, and bias-free language. Technology can also be a valuable tool in communication, enhancing the effectiveness of communication while also providing options for planning, developing, and presenting material. In this module, we will explore business communication skills including oral communication, written communication, social media etiquette, presentation skills, and technology options for enhancing the effectiveness of communication.

Cover letter | a letter that accompanies the resume. The purpose of the cover letter is to introduce the applicant to the employer and convince the employer to read the resume.
Digital presence | how an organization or an individual appears online to others.
Email | popular form of communication that usually arrives within seconds.
Forums | online sites where individuals can post questions and respond to questions posted by others.
Listerv | a method for communicating with multiple people using email.
Online chatting | a form of instant communication that is usually seen as a more casual method of communicating.
Resume | a document that highlights a job applicant’s skills, talents, education, and work experience. The purpose of the resume is to secure an interview.
Texting | brief informal messages that are sent using smartphones.
Video conferencing | usually involves both audio and video and can also include screen-sharing, polls, and breakout rooms.
