CTSO Skills to Become an Effective Leader

Introduction

As you have learned in your previous CTAE classes, Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) are much more than co-curricular student organizations –they are an avenue for gaining critical and valuable employability skills. In this module, we will pay particular attention to teamwork skills, planning and decision-making, and the elements of professional appearance. We will also look at the role of a CTSO officer. Serving in the role of a CTSO officer opens the door to numerous opportunities for students. Take a look at the Road Map to Success that you can follow and gain skills through involvement with FBLA.

Module Lessons Preview

In this module, we will study the following topics:

Teamwork: Teamwork results from the combined action of a group of people, especially when they work together in an effective and efficient capacity.

Planning and Decision Making: Planning is a critical component of decision-making – planning is thinking before doing. Decision-making is a process in determining a course of action.

Professional Appearance: The way you look plays a significant role in your success. Proper grooming and professional appearance are important in gaining that positive first impression.

Becoming a CTSO Officer: Involvement in a CTSO as a CTSO Officer can be the first step in becoming a successful businessman or woman.
