Learning a new language can be a challenging and time-consuming process, but with the right tools and techniques, it is possible to achieve fluency and speak like a native. One powerful tool that can help language learners to make rapid progress is repetition.

Repetition

Repetition is the act of repeating something, whether it be a word, phrase, lesson, or concept in order to reinforce it in the mind. When it comes to language learning, repetition can be a highly effective way to improve pronunciation, build vocabulary, and increase fluency.

What to Expect?

In this course, we will provide lecciones de repaso – review lessons, which can be used as lessons for repetition. We will also provide tips and strategies for incorporating repetition into your Spanish language learning routine. By the end of this course, you will have a better understanding of the power of repetition when learning a second language.

El verbo ir

What are you going to do este fin de semana? If you have some free time you will probably engage in some of your favorite pasatiempos. To talk about these planes for el próximo fin de semana you will need to use the verb ir a: going to.

Ir is one of the most used verbs in Spanish.

Ir is an irregular and stem-changing verb that means to go. Just as in English, it does not always mean going somewhere physically, but also mentally, emotionally, and when you are going to do something.

For example:

  • El próximo fin de semana yo voy sacar fotos en la playa - Next weekend I am going to take pictures on the beach.
  • Nosotros vamos a jugar al golf el sábado por la mañana – We are going to play golf Saturday morning.
  • ¿Tú vas a la clase de yoga este el sábado? - Are you going to yoga class this Saturday?

Since the conjugation is unique for each pronoun, you can avoid the pronoun in your sentence or expression. Example:

  • Voy a pescar con mi tío el Viernes por la tarde - I am going to fish with my uncle this Friday afternoon.

Voy a is the conjugation for the YO pronoun only, which means we can use yo or not. Both expressions are grammatically correct. The same will apply to all pronouns, for example:

  • Vamos a meditar el domingo por la mañana – We are going to meditate Sunday morning.
  • ¿Vas a montar en bicicleta esta tarde? - Are you going to ride the bike this afternoon?
