El verbo ser
In Spanish, the verb to be is expressed in two ways: ser and estar. This video lesson will help you remember the different uses of the verb ser by using the acronym D.O.C.T.O.R.:
- Description
- Occupation
- Characteristics
- Time
- Origin
- Relationship
For each of these situations, you will use the verb ser.
How Do We Write Verbs?
In the following video lesson, the forms of ser will be discussed. You will notice a few things immediately:
- There are multiple forms of the verb in the present tense.
- Those forms change based on the subject pronoun.
- When listing verb forms in Spanish, the verb will often be listed with the subject pronoun.
The following table contains a list of the subject pronouns in Spanish. These are used with every verb in Spanish, so please take a moment to write these pronouns down and memorize them now. It will help you out in the long run to learn these forms well! Don't forget to write the acentos for the pronouns that include one.
