South, East, and Southeast Asia Timeline

Timelines help students understand the chronology of historic events and help students place newly encountered events and figures in relation to those they have previously studied. Timelines provide a visual aid for identifying cause and effect relationships between events, and a visual prompt to activate student prior knowledge. An art history timeline places world events and artwork in chronological order. Using art history timelines can help students see the historical and stylistic context (format, design, look, genre). They allow students to recognize how historic events, eras and topics overlap in time and help students compare elements in different time periods.
