September 11th, 2001

Hello, students!

Today, we meet back together to discuss one of the deadliest attacks on U.S. soil.

On September 11, 2001, terrorists attacked the United States by seizing control of airplanes and forcing them to crash into the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. The terrorists involved in the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon were identified as belonging to a terrorist group called Al Qaeda from the Middle East.

The War on Terrorism began in the aftermath of terrorist attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001. By using military force in the countries under Al Qaeda or Taliban Control, the United States government decided to locate, prosecute, and eliminate the group and its leaders.
