Babe Ruth

In the previous lesson, we learned about how Americans were making more money than they ever had before. With this, came the popularity of the radio and television. Now, more Americans could afford to have these devices in their homes.

Americans were in search of something enjoyable to entertain them and pass the time. A love for sports, especially baseball, evolved during this time. The famous baseball player, Babe Ruth, became a household name.

  In your journal:  Print the notes page and complete it as you go through the slides. If you do not have access to a printer, another option is to draw/write your notes page in your social studies journal. The note page below will be used for the next 4 lessons.

Babe Ruth came roaring into the 1920s as a star and gave the American people something to look forward to. In the 1920s, American people entertained themselves with spectator sports, games, movies, and the radio.
