Introduction
Sometimes our sentences get ‘wordy’ or have unnecessary phrases. These phrases can make the sentence difficult to understand. For example, here is a wordy sentence.
In the event that there is a possibility that there may be rain, there is an umbrella in the backseat of the car that you may borrow if you would like.
Let’s make this sentence more clear.
In case it rains, you can borrow the umbrella in the car.
Reducing wordy sentences makes writing easier to understand.
