Account 2

Dear Annie,

I hope this letter finds you well. We’ve just arrived in Concho, Texas. We have a long way to go on the Western Trail, but I’ve already had countless adventures.

During our first week on the trail, the camp cookie spilled our beans that was supposed to be our supper for three nights. We got by on the bread; at least he kept that clean. Then, we had to cross the one of the biggest rivers. We lost two calves that day. Luckily, we all survived.

I look forward to bringing the herd into Dodge City. But, Kansas seems so far away at this point. I promise to write again soon.

Yours truly,

Dan
