Introduction

The next step in planning for an opinion essay is to elaborate the evidence. Elaboration comes from YOU, the writer. This is your explanation of the evidence you’ve chosen from the text.  

In opinion writing, elaboration means to really dig into the reasons that support your opinion and explain your evidence.
