Practice Introductions

You have TWO options, so choose ONE.

Should zoos exist? Or, should all Zoos be closed?. 

In Your Journal: 

        1. Write your Hook. What kind of hook will you use (shocking statement, critical thinking question, or describing a picture)?

        2. Write your strong opinion using a transition phrase such as: in my opinion, I feel, I believe, I am convinced, I am confident that, etc..

        3. Include your three points or reasons that support your opinion.

Zoos should not exist

Zoos should exist
  • Zoos can never really replicate, or copy, the animals natural environment. 
  • Animals don’t always receive the appropriate care in zoos. 
  • Wild animals may be unhappy in captivity.
  • Zoos increase an animal’s population because they are fed and have veterinarian attention. 
  • Zoos have educational programs to teach people about the animals.
  • Animals are placed in safe habitats that protect them.
