Introduction

Look back at the traffic light paragraph you wrote yesterday.


Let's Organize:

From your journal:

    1. Type your traffic light paragraph into a Google Document. Use a 24-size font because you will be cutting your paragraph apart.
    2. Review your writing using the rubric below once more.
    3. Have a peer review your work.
    4. Print your paragraph.
    5. Carefully, cut apart your paragraph into separate sentences.
    6. Color the topic sentence green, the supporting sentences yellow, and the concluding sentence red. Then, glue them back together in the correct order.
Grading Rubric
Criteria Rating Points Possible Points Earned
Capitalization 1 point for each sentence that begins with a capital letter.

Punctuation 1 point for each sentence that ends with a period, question mark, or exclamation point. 5
Topic Sentence The topic sentence tells the place to be described. 1
Supporting Details The supporting detail sentences have at least 3 sensory details. 3
Concluding Sentence The conclusion states the place described again. 1
