Introduction
Another story element is the conflict or problem, the character faces. Every story MUST have a conflict! The character needs an issue to solve (resolution). Conflicts can be internal (in the character’s heart/mind) or external (dealing with another character, a group of characters, or nature).
In your Journal: Download and print the conflict = problem journal page. Cut and paste in your journal.

Underneath your conflict chart, list your favorite fiction books that you’ve read. What type of conflict did the character have? Do you see a pattern of conflicts in the books you’ve chosen to read? For example, do you like character vs. nature books like Hatchet?
