Introduction

Let’s practice what you learned on day 1.

In your Journal: Download and print the character analysis chart. Cut and paste in your journal. Read over the chart.

Think about the last fiction book you read. Draw a picture of the main character and supporting character(s). Make sure to label your characters either main or supporting. Underneath the pictures, write a paragraph to describe how you determined whether the character is a main character or a supporting character.

Character traits are words that help us understand and describe a character’s personality. Character traits are shown by the character’s feelings, things they do (actions), the words characters say (dialogue), and the things they think. To determine character traits, remember to think F.A.S.T. *Look back at the chart in your journal *
