Introduction

There are many genres of fiction, or made-up, stories (historical fiction, traditional literature, science fiction, mystery, and realistic fiction). But all stories have elements, or parts, in common. In this lesson, you will learn about the elements of a story.

Story elements include characters, settings, and plots.

Story elements are characters (who the story is about), setting (place and time) and plot (events).
