Lesson 8 - Physical Properties and Changes
Introduction
A physical property is a characteristic of a substance that can be observed or measured without changing the identity of the substance. Physical properties include color, density, hardness, and melting and boiling points. We use our senses to measure and detect physical properties.
A physical change is a change to the physical properties of a substance. They are usually reversible.

In your Science Journal:
-
- Write down today’s Lesson Title at the top of your next Journal page.
- Write today’s learning objective on the first line.
- Explore the Module 7 - Lesson 8 presentation below. Today, we’ll learn about physical properties and changes. We can identify physical properties by using our senses. Physical changes do not result in new substances being created. We’ll be exploring a Google Slides presentation. It is a presentation that will help introduce you to physical properties and physical changes in matter.
- Write down the important terms and their definitions and important diagrams (yellow boxes) in your Science Journal.
