Lesson 2 - Gases

Introduction

Gases have particles that are much further apart in comparison to both solids and liquids. There is a lot of space between the particles. The particles collide with other particles and with the walls of the container. Because the particles can move easily, a gas will take the shape of the container that it is in. There is space between the particles. They can be compressed into a smaller volume when the gas is compressed.

In your Science Journal:

    1. Write down today’s Lesson Title at the top of your next Journal page.
    2. Write today’s learning objective on the first line.
    3. Explore the Module 7 - Lesson 2 presentation below. Today, we’ll learn about the least dense state of matter - gases.  We’ll be exploring a Google Slides presentation. It is a presentation that will help introduce you to the idea of the gasses and their characteristics.
    4. Write down the important terms and their definitions and important diagrams (yellow boxes) in your Science Journal
