Lesson 12 - Constructive Forces - Volcanoes

Introduction

The processes for building new land are called constructive forces. Today, we will introduce the constructive landform - volcanoes. We will discuss how these landforms are created.

In your Science Journal:

    1. Write down today’s Lesson Title at the top of your next Journal page.
    2. Write today’s learning objective on the first line.
    3. Explore the Module 6 - Lesson 12 presentation below. Put simply, a volcano is an opening on the Earth’s surface. Usually found in a mountain, the opening allows gas, hot magma, and ash to escape from beneath the Earth’s crust. Volcanoes are often found at meeting points of tectonic plates.
    4. Write down the important terms and their definitions and important diagrams (yellow boxes) in your Science Journal.
