Lessons 18-19 - Heredity and Genetics Trading Cards

Introduction

To make sure that we have a fun way to study for the unit assessment in a few days, we are going to work for the next couple of days to create Heredity and Genetics and then review them with a sibling, parent, or friend. 

Heredity and Genetics Trading Cards are a great way to review what we have learned about Heredity and Genetics. 

Activity

You will make nine trading cards.  One for each of the following terms:

    • gene
    • genetics
    • trait
    • instinct
    • offspring
    • inherited trait
    • acquired trait
    • dominant 
    • recessive

For each trading card, you will:

    1. Fill in the definition of each term (look in your science journal for that information).
    2. Use the term in a sentence.
    3. Draw an illustration that represents the science term on the reverse side.

You’ll use these cards to review and better understand the terms from the lessons. Download and print the Heredity and Genetics Trading Cards.
