Lesson 6 - Inherited Traits
Introduction
Traits are your physical characteristics, like hair or eye color. Every living thing has traits that make it unique. Most traits are passed down from parents, however, they can also come from your grandparents or even your great-grandparents. When baby animals are formed, some of the traits of the mom and some of the traits of the dad are combined to create a unique baby. Sometimes traits can skip a generation. That’s why you might be the only one in the family with a nose that looks like your grandfather’s nose!
Inherited Traits
In your Science Journal:
-
- Write down today’s Lesson Title at the top of your next Journal page.
- Write today’s learning objective on the first line.
- Explore the Module 5 - Lesson 6 presentation below. Today, we’ll learn about inherited traits. We’ll be exploring an Inherited Traits Google Slides presentation. It is a presentation that will help you to understand what inherited traits are and where they come from.
- Write down the important terms and their definitions (yellow boxes) in your science journal.
