Lesson 2 - Instincts

Introduction

Animals are born with instincts. An instinct is a part of the behavior of an organism. It is inherited, not learned. Although instincts are not learned, their performance can sometimes be improved by experience and practice. Instinctive responses are automatic. Animals do not need to think about their actions. There are many examples of instinctual behavior in animals, even your pets!
