Lesson 7 - Organelles: Chloroplast

Introduction

Today we'll discuss an incredibly important part of the plant cell, chloroplast. Chloroplasts convert light energy into chemical energy that other organisms can use - organisms like us!

    1. Grab your Science Journal and a pencil.
    2. Write down today’s Lesson Title at the top of your next Journal page.
    3. Write today’s learning objective on the first line.
    4. Watch the Module 2 - Lesson 7 video below.
    5. Write down the important terms and their definitions in your Science Journal.
    6. Pause the video as often as you need.


Assignment

Brainstorm some items or ways that you could model chloroplasts in your model that you will create in a few lessons.

      1. What characteristics does it need to have?
      2. What are some objects in your home that you could use to represent chloroplasts?
      3. Record a post with your thoughts.
      4. Respond to at least two other classmates’ ideas.
