Introduction

We will be reviewing metaphors today!

A type of figurative language that authors sometimes use is a metaphor. A metaphor compares two unlike things without using like or as.

Metaphors and similes are used in writing to describe items.
Metaphors are when you say something is something else.

Similes are when you say something is like or comparing to something else.
Metaphor - Time is money!
Simile - You are bright like a star!

Introduction

Today we will review dramas. Drama can be called plays, reader's theater, and stage performances.

Just like a story, dramas also have elements. Dramas have a cast of characters, settings, descriptions, dialogue, and stage directions written by a playwright. It follows a natural story arc, just like in a normal story, but is meant to be performed in front of others.
