The next few days, we will be reviewing capitalization for our quiz on Wednesday. Here is the anchor chart that we have been using to remind ourselves of the capitalization rules. 

Capitalization with M.I.N.T.S. - Copy the chart and provide an example of at least one word that would need to be capitalized following the MINTS strategy. months, Days of the week, & Holidays "i" stands alone Names of people, places & Things
(proper Nouns) Titles of Books, Magazines, movies, jobs. Start of sentences

Introduction

Hey reader! Today, we will continue our work with story elements by working with plot. The plot of the story is the events of the story. It answers the question: "What is happening?" It includes problems, or conflicts, that characters face. It will also include a solution to the problem.

Stop and Jot

In Your Notebook:  Read for 30 minutes. Then think about the characters in your book. Write down the answers to the following questions:
What are the character's struggles or conflicts? Are they internal or external? How do you know?
