Introduction

Hi grammarians! When we are writing, we want to make sure that we use correct capitalization. Capital letters show that something is important, like proper nouns or the start to a sentence. They help us read and write fluently!

This week, we will learn the capitalization rules using the M.I.N.T.S. strategy. Today, our focus is on S - starts of sentences.

Introduction

Hey writers! Please pull up your Personal Narrative Slideshow that you made a copy of in our last writing lesson. You should find them on your google drive. Links to an external site.

Today, our focus is making sure that we have a small moment topic rather than a larger moment. This will help us avoid the "this happened then we went here, then here, etc." It is not interesting to read, so we know it isn't fun to write either! We will be magnifying in on a small moment to help build details and understanding of what happened that was special!

In addition, we will be organizing our writing using our story elements that we have also been learning in our reading.
